Go-Go Virtual Run Challenge

Knights In White Lycra Go-Go Run

The annual KIWL Go-Go Run Challenge attracts runners who choose either the ultra 55km, 22km or 10km courses ending at a care home in Saitama where the participants meet the kids for whom they are raising funds. Since its start in 2017, the Go-Go has attracted 160 runners raising ¥2,688,000 for NPOs providing support for kids in Japanese care homes.

Due to COVID-19, the in-person Go-Go could not take place in 2020, instead we hosted a very successful 'virtual' running event on Strava attracting 90 participants who chose to run anywhere and at any time. Runners were simply asked to run at least 55kms in November in return for an entry fee which raised ¥538,000 for our chosen charity.

In 2021, we envisage the virtual run being a core part of the Go-Go event next year, with the actual run to the kids' home being an integral part of the month-long challenge. The in-person run is slated for Saturday November 6th. If you are interested in joining the 2021 event, drop an email to info@kiwl.net and we’ll put you on our mailing list and/or follow our our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/kiwlrunners4kids.
